MISSION

UFSJ, as a public institution, commits to educating, developing with excellence the activities of Teaching, Extension, and Research in an inseparable way, contributing to the prompting of changes and advances towards a fair and equal society, through the encounter, analysis, and construction of practices and knowledge, considering the academic, ethical, cultural, social, and environmental contexts.


VISION

To be a university committed to overcoming inequalities and humanity development. The notion of Humanity, here referred, does not refer merely to demographic data, but to a set of values, considered valid, necessary and worthy of being pursued, such as otherness, justice, human dignity, peoples’ rights, freedom, and cultural differences.


VALUES

UFSJ is based on the following values:
  • Citizenship- ensuring individual and community freedom, rights, and responsibilities;
