NETEC
The Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Center (NETEC) is an administrative unit of UFSJ, linked to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, whose main objective is to contribute to technological innovation in the productive environment, promoting the transfer of technology generated by research developed in the institution and incubating technology-based companies and traditional sectors.

Legal fundament
Law 10,973/2004, that provides incentives for innovation and scientific and technological research in the productive environment, determines that scientific and technological institutions must have a core of technological innovation, with the following minimum competencies:
- to ensure the maintenance of the institutional policy of stimulating the protection of creations, licensing, innovation and other forms of technology transfer;
- evaluate and classify the results arising from research activities and projects regarding the generation of technological innovation;
- assess application from independent inventor for adoption of invention;
- to opine about the convenience and promote the protection of the creations developed in the institution;
- to opine about the convenience of disclosing the creations developed in the institution, susceptible to intellectual protection;
- monitor the processing of applications and the maintenance of the institution's intellectual property titles.

- developing technological prospection and competitive intelligence studies in the field of intellectual property, in order to guide the ICT's innovation actions
- develop studies and strategies for the transfer of innovation generated by the ICT
- promote and accompany the ICT's relationship with companies
- negotiating and managing technology transfer agreements originating from the ICT.
