Autenticação de Documentos
In this space you will find information about the correction and authentication of documents, offered by ASSIN to professors, employees, students and graduates. It is important to emphasize that we only work with the correction and authentication of documents in English. Please read the instructions below carefully and, in case of any doubts, do not hesitate to contact us.
HOW TO GET DOCUMENTS AUTHENTICATED
First of all, you must provide the Portuguese version of the document. It is the responsibility of the interested party to make the translation and forward both copies (original, in Portuguese and the translated copy, in English) to the following e-mail: assin.intercambio@ufsj.edu.br.
IMPORTANT: the translation must be a true copy of the document in Portuguese. You can use the templates available on our website. We do not correct and authenticate documents sent without the original copy, in this case, the Portuguese copy. If there is no template available for your case, please contact us.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE ARE INACCURACIES IN THE ENGLISH VERSION?
ASSIN will point out the errors in the document and the interested party must correct them. After the correction, the interested party must send the document back to ASSIN. Our office will check if the errors have been corrected and, if so, will authenticate the document.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE DOCUMENT TO BE CORRECTED AND AUTHENTICATED?
The documents are classified in order of submission and the correction will take place in this way. The expected time for correction is 10 working days, which may vary according to the demand of the office.
IMPORTANT: ASSIN reserves the right to make corrections within the stipulated period, in usual situations. It is the responsibility of the interested party to plan and send the document in time for correction and authentication.
CAN MY REQUEST FOR DOCUMENT CORRECTION AND AUTHENTICATION BE DENIED?
Yes. Due to demand, we rely on the assistance of an intern to assist us in the document correction and authentication process. If, for any reason, the intern does not come to ASSIN (absence due to health reasons, vacation, recess, etc.), we will contact the person concerned and report the situation. In this situation, delays may occur and the deadline of 10 working days may be exceeded.
If the contract with the intern is terminated or if the intern quits, the service may be suspended until a new intern is hired.
IS THE AUTHENTICATION EQUIVALENT TO A SWORN DOCUMENT?
No, ASSIN's authentication does not replace a sworn translation. Be aware of this information before requesting the correction and authentication of documents.
DOES ASSIN CORRECT AND AUTHENTICATE DOCUMENTS FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS?
No, ASSIN will only correct and authenticate documents issued by the institution. Other cases should be forwarded to the e-mail mentioned for evaluation.
DOES ASSIN CORRECT AND AUTHENTICATE DOCUMENTS ON THE SPOT?
No, the deadline for correction and authentication of documents is 10 (ten) working days. We do not perform the service on the spot or in any other scenario. Please respect the deadlines.
DOES ASSIN SEND AUTHENTICATED DOCUMENTS TO FOREIGN INSTITUTIONS?
ASSIN can send documents to foreign institutions, however, only in electronic format (by e-mail). We do not send physical documents (by post) due to the high cost of the operation.
DOES ASSIN PRINT DOCUMENTS IN ITS OFFICE?
No, ASSIN does not print documents. Please do not insist.
HOW IS THE DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATED?
There are two ways: online and physical. In the online format, we transform the file into "PDF" and insert the signature and stamp of the UFSJ International Affairs Advisor - Professor Liliane Resende. In the physical format, the interested party must bring the printed document, with the space available for authentication blank. The document will be signed and stamped by one of ASSIN's staff.
CAN THIRD PARTIES COME TO THE OFFICE TO AUTHENTICATE THE DOCUMENTS?
Yes. We suggest that the interested party schedule an appointment via e-mail, informing the full name of the person who will come to the office to collect the signature.
SOME IMPORTANT TIPS AND GUIDELINES FOR TRANSLATION:
In the case of academic transcripts: the header must be filled in as in the original, with all the data;
All information about the subjects must be included in the translation, such as: subject acronyms, information about the curricular components, class, attendance, etc;
Do not use Google Translate to translate every document;
All tables and/or additional information that appear in the original document must be translated into the English document;
If there is a need to include the MC or any other index in any document (especially in transcripts), please send the Portuguese version in which the information is included. If the index is inserted in the translation and does not appear in the Portuguese version, the correction will be requested;
ASSIN provides a database of menus to assist those interested in translations. We do not yet have all the syllabi available (for all courses). Click HERE and access the database of syllabi.
